Session 1: Robots and Stop Motion (2 Day Camp)

  • Dates: December 27 and 28
  • Times: 9:00-3:00 with extended care from 7:30-5:30
  • Fees:
    • Camp: $115 early fee (By Dec. 13)/$130 regular fee
    • Extended care: 7:30-9:00 $14;  3:00-5:30 $20

5-7  Years Old    Uber Techy

OzoBot We are excited to offer Ozobots! Small robots that follow color patterns and designs made by students; and OzoBlockly, a drag and drop coding app that gives kids the chance to learn in a truly hands on way! The Ozobot is programmed to follow the commands students create on the tablet. Each lesson has a challenge to complete using the coding they have learned.

Stop Motion Video:Then we are on to an introduction to Stop Motion Videos where students will create their own stop motion film.  Students will need to use their Sequential Reasoning capabilities and thought processes to create their video.  First, students need to lay out a plan that starts with a story-line followed by the storyboard. As students begin to set up their stage they will have to check and test all equipment for glitches!  In stop motion filming, every step must be taken in the correct order, one small movement at a time, just as a robot is programmed to move from point A to point B. This helps students to gain an understanding of the concepts introduced in coding! Using logic and creativity results in all around great fun!

Ages 8-12        EV3 Robots and Stop Motion

Fees:

  • Camp: $114 early fee (By Dec. 13)/$129 regular fee
  • Extended care: 7:30-9:00 $14;  3:00-5:30 $20

Robotics and Programming: LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3: Our robots will focus on different sensors or motors and how to program them for operations.  Students will need to be able to focus, use reason and work well within a team setting.  One of our builds, The R3ptar can sense an object as it approaches and will strike without warning using the UltraSonic Sensor.

Stop Motion Video: Then we are on to an introduction to Stop Motion Videos where students will create their own stop motion film.  Students will need to use their Sequential Reasoning capabilities and thought processes to create their video.  First, students need to lay out a plan that starts with a story-line followed by the storyboard. Session 2:  Coding, Gaming and Robots  (3 Day Camp)

  • Dates: January 2nd – 4th Coding Ages 5-7 and 8-12
  • Times: 9:00-3:00 with extended care from 7:30-5:30
  • Fees:
    • Camp: $172 early fee (By Dec. 13)/$187 regular fee
    • Extended care: 7:30-9:00 $21;  3:00-5:30 $30

5-7  Years Old    Coding Crazy and Robots!

Boost Robots:  We will be introducing our newest Robot during our camp!  Boost is the newest robotics kit available to our younger robotics kids. Students will build a base robot as they begin to learn the programming process.

WeDo Robots: New Adventure Bots for kids at Imagine That! with Lego® WeDo Construction sets! Students will be excited to build and program Dancing Birds that sing and twirl and a Spinning Top that Spins and Whirls!   Our students will build, then program machines to move, the computer to make sounds, and imaginations to soar! Sequences and programming are being reinforced through each activity.

Coding:  How great would it be if you had been able to start writing code at an early age? Our younger students are going to experience 3 or 4 different coding languages in our coding course.  The goal is to expose students to the bare bones of coding languages. They will learn Basic Syntax, Loops and Algorithms with Logo, Scratch, Python or Html.  You will be amazed at how much they learn!

8-12  Years Old  Gaming and Coding

Gaming:  Learn two different gaming programs using Roblox and Gamemaker!

Coding:  Wouldn’t your student like to progress beyond programming?  We are now offering Coding Language classes using CodeCombat.  As each level is achieved, such as Basic Syntax, students will move on to higher levels where they will battle their way to gain gems with each correct coding sentence.  During our session, students will do battle using Python!
