Subjects include Coding, Minecraft, Stop Motion Video Production, 3D Printing and Robotics.

All camps are held at our Imagine That Enrichment Center:  6365 Spalding Drive, Suite E, Peachtree Corners, Georgia 30092

Each camp is two days long with early care and after care.

Session 1:  Coding and Stop Motion Video

  • Dates: Dec. 27-28 Coding Ages 5-7 and 8-11
  • Times: 9:00-3:00 with extended care from 7:30-5:30
  • Fees:

5-7  Years Old    Coding Crazy and Stop Motion Videos!

Coding:  How great would it be if you had been able to start writing code at an early age? Our younger students are going to experience 3 or 4 different coding languages in our coding course.  The goal is to expose students to the bare bones of coding languages.They will learn Basic Syntax, Loops and Algorithms with Logo, Scratch, Python or Html.  You will be amazed at how much they learn!

Stop Motion Video: Then we are on to an introduction to Stop Motion Videos where students will create their own stop motion film.  Students will need to use their Sequential Reasoning capabilities and thought processes to create their video.  First, students need to lay out a plan that starts with a story-line followed by the storyboard. As students begin to set up their stage they will have to check and test all equipment for glitches!  In stop motion filming, every step must be taken in the correct order, one small movement at a time, just as a robot is programmed to move from point A to point B. This helps students to gain an understanding of the concepts introduced in coding! Using logic and creativity results in all around great fun!

8-11  Years Old  Creative Coding

Wouldn’t your student like to progress beyond programming?  We are now offering Coding Language classes using CodeCombat.  As each level is achieved, such as Basic Syntax, students will move on to higher levels where they will battle their way to gain gems with each correct coding sentence.  During our session, students will do battle using Python!

 

Session 2: 3D Printing, Stop Motion and MiniBots

  • Dates: Jan 2-3
  • Times: 9:00-3:00 with extended care from 7:30-5:30

Robotics and Programming: You’re in for a couple of days of great fun as students learn programming with the Domabot. A mini challenge will move them through the basics to get started.  Once they get the hang of it we will build the Hammer Car.

The Hammer Car moves around and swings the hammer to pound whatever it can get close to!  Students will drive, control, and swing the hammer using only the touch sensor button as a remote control.  Sounds like whomping good fun!!

11-14 years old       3D Printing & CAD Design

Bring your child’s imagination to life with Dremel Idea Builder and Auto Desk Tinker CAD. Using problem based learning, our students will have the power to build their imaginations! With Tinker CAD, students will be able to create, move, rotate and scale their abstract models before printing. The software is intuitive and easy to learn. They will see the tangible results as they refine and print their 3D design. To encourage their critical thinking, students will be able learn the science and engineering behind projects created in the class. At the end of class, the students will be able to take home a copy of all of their designs and at least one of their favorite 3D models.

Ages 7-10: Raving About Redstone  

In this exciting camp, students will learn all about Redstone! Redstone can be used in Minecraft to make simple circuits, such as automatic doors and light switches, and complex devices such as trap doors, roller coasters, and automatic farms! In this 2 day camp we will explore how Redstone works and put that knowledge to use with fun projects that require problem solving to get their redstone working!

 

11-14 years old     Learn Programming With MineCraft and ComputerCraft

Students will learn programming skills using ComputerCraft in which you can add little robots and computers to the world of MineCraft.  These can be programmed using the LUA scripting language. Students will learn about variables, functions, conditional statements, loops, and more, as well as improving their typing skills in a fun, familiar environment where the results of their work are immediately visible and very rewarding. Students will conceptualize, write, and debug their very own program using new skills that remain useful outside of the MineCraft environment.
