We offer many sessions throughout the year! Coding, Minecraft, Robotics, Sewing, Video Production, Science and Art!

Each session is 8 weeks with a different subject each time.

All classes are held at our Learning Center located at: 6365 Spalding Drive, Suite E. Peachtree Corners, GA 30092

Session 1: Minecraft and Architectural Design and Icky Techy

This class will allow your student’s creativity and knowledge of technology to come together in a bold new way. Using Lego® Architecture Studio and specially designed graph paper, students will draw, design, and build their own creations step by step, just like the Master Builders at Lego! 

Students will learn about architectural engineering as they draw, design, and build their own buildings with LEGOS, then they will expand on those ideas and build their design on a much grander scale in Minecraft!

Students will use resources to help them build perfect domes and spheres in Minecraft. This is the perfect camp for your creative minded, Lego and Minecraft loving student!

5-7  years old       Science, Robotics and Tech:  Icky Techy

In other words: Let’s make biology, chemistry  and Technology FUN! STEM at it’s BEST!

Science will include learning about anatomy, oil spills, insects, and chemistry.
Technology will include boost robots,stop motion, and machines.

With Lego ® MINDSTORMS EV3’s students will build a walking man able to push a cart loaded with supplies!  Students will program cart races with classmates.  Who can dump the cart first and move on to the balance to ride with friends?  This session will be “cart loads” of fun!

Lego ®MINDSTORMS NXT’s are all new this year!  Dizze Bot has monster tires to navigate around and over any obstacle course while students learn programming blocks.  How fast will the Grasshopper race it across the room.  The Chick has an issue with balancing on his 2 feet.  Would an effective program help with his wobble?

 Makerspace:  What is a Makerspace?  This is a place that students can meet to create and engineer items that might solve a problem.   With Lego ® Education Simple Machines kits and supplies from your closet or around the room, students will Define a problem to solve, Brainstorm together for ideas, Identify Design Criteria, Go Make, Review and Revise and finally Communicate the Solution through their Maker project! Possible projects are Digital Accessories, Mechanical Toys, a Wearable, a Carnival Ride and so much more. Let’s see what the kids design and Make!

Stop Motion Video:  Then we are on to Stop Motion Video Production exploring Fictional Characters in a graphic novel style genre! (think “Captain Underpants”) Creating a storyline based around their fictional character, students will lay out a plan that starts with a story-line followed by the storyboard. As students begin to set the stage, they will have to check and test all equipment for glitches!  In stop motion filming, every step must be taken in the correct order, one small movement at a time, just as a robot is programmed to move from point A to point B. This helps students to gain an understanding of the concepts introduced in coding! Using logic and creativity results in all around great fun!

BoostFantastic Creations for younger robotics kids. Students will build a base robot as they begin to learn the programming process. All instructions and programming are on an App called Boost ® by Lego.  The Hub of the robot can connect to the tablet using Bluetooth. Once they are comfortable moving their bots they will add a sensor that detects Color and Distance that also doubles as a light…From this base bot students build Fantastic Creations; robots that walk, wiggle and squirm their way through the room and your child’s imagination!

Stop Motion We will also reinforce frame by frame videos with Lego Stop Motion!  Students create their own stop motion film laying out a plan that starts with a storyline, character development staging and more.  Students will need to use their Sequential Reasoning capabilities and thought processes to create their video.

8-12  Years Old  Creative Coding  

New! Computer Coding: Blockly Games is our newest addition, using fun games to learn coding language.  The first puzzle students navigate show how to click commands to the blocks by matching traits of different animals. The following puzzles let students choose an avatar and adventure. As puzzles are solved with Drag and Drop, the code is also shown in Javascript.  Older students will be  challenged with games using parameters, angles, degrees and music notes to name a few, while showing how to write the commands in both Blockly and Javascript.

New! Pivot Animator: Programming!  We are so happy to offer Pivot Animator this year!  Pivot Animator is a user friendly platform creating 2D stick-man animations. The stick figures can be easily moved by dragging handles. The animation is made frame by frame. While Pivot Animator is very easy to use, very complicated animations can be created.  Your students animation can be exported to several formats to use as a GIF or on YouTube!

5-7  Years Old    Coding Crazy! Coding and Ozobots

 How great would it be if you had been able to start writing code at an early age?

Ozobots: Ozobots will go on adventures of their own this year!  These are tiny little robots that can be programmed using color codes. Students start by drawing the codes to go from home to school, or the store, or the playground.  They can go fast or slow or spin round and round, however the kids code them to go.  Ozobot can also be programmed using the tablets to complete challenges.

New! Computer Science: We find that while kids are smarter and faster with the technology these days, they don’t have a basic understanding of the computer itself.  What does www. mean?  What is a browser?  How do you find a port?  What do the icons mean and what’s the point of having them on the screen?  We will address and discuss the basics of computers, tablets and phones they use every day.

New! Coding Apps: Code Karts is designed with our youngest students in mind.  This game has our students solving puzzles on the raceway with pre-coding logic! with 70 levels and 2 ways to play, one of them against the clock, your student will be solving puzzles using code-based thinking! Ready, set, Race!

New! Bit By Bit is a coding app that is sometimes best used as a brainstorming activity. Using their new skill of code-based thinking and logic, teams work out the best way for their Bits to complete the code
